Katelynn

Katelynn is the founder and lead Ayurvedic practitioner at Half Moon Ayurveda, where she sees clients one on one for diet and lifestyle consultations, Ayurvedic massages and treatments, and guided cleanses. Katelynn completed her Ayurvedic studies program at the Ayurvedic Institute in 2012 under the guidance of Dr. Vasant Lad. She has continued to study extensively with Dr. Lad and other leaders in the field in clinical settings. She is the director of Bikram Yoga Philadelphia, and a founding member of Philly Yoga Factory, a non profit organization making yoga and healing arts accessible for all. She teaches yoga, sees clients and leads workshops at her space in center city, Philadelphia.

Robert

Robert graduated from Sunstate Academy for Massage in Spring 2010. In 2012, Robert found yoga which soon led him to Ayurveda. With Ayurveda, Robert could fuse ancient healing principles with techniques and therapies he learned in his massage practitioner education. Robert specializes in lymphatic, relaxation, deep tissue, and Ayurvedic oil massage. Receive a treatment from Robert and enjoy the perfect balance of strength, and tenderness with a focus on client comfort.

Daniel

Daniel Tague, license acupuncturist holds a Master’s degree in acupuncture from The Won Institute of Graduate Studies, and is nationally certified through the NCCAOM. He has been trained in both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Worsley Five Element acupuncture. Along with acupuncture, he practices facial rejuvenation and other treatments such as gua sha, tuina, moxibustion, and cupping therapies. Daniel also has a Bachelor’s degree from Tyler School of Art in painting and sculpture, and worked for many years in child care, teaching, and the arts. The art making process develops one’s tactile senses in a way that lends a unique set of skills to Daniel’s practice, where he seeks to create a safe, comfortable, and fun healing environment for his patients.

Suzanne Lang

Suzanne Lang was born with the desire to be a healer. She aced the pre-medical program at Dartmouth College, but finding the Western approach to medicine troubling, Suzanne abandoned her dream of becoming a physician and became a professor. After years of searching, she found her healing home in Ayurveda, the world’s oldest system of healthcare. Suzanne is a certified Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultant through the American Institute of Vedic Studies. She is trained in pulse diagnosis and marma therapy through her guru, Vaidya Mishra, with whom she continues to study as an advanced practitioner. Christie Szpyrka

Christie is a 2011 graduate from the Center for Natural Wellness School of Massage Therapy, located in Albany, NY. Having received a diversified training, she considers herself to be a “muscle nerd.” Along with her extensive knowledge of the human anatomy, Christie blends concepts from east and west in order to create a comprehensive and unique experience for each client. Using principles from Shiatsu massage, neuromuscular therapy, and myofascial release, she customizes each session in accordance with her client’s individual needs to promote harmony and self-healing within the body.

Dean

Dean Hutcherson, LMT Dipl. ABT (NCCAOM), Certified Instructor (AOBTA) Dean has been practicing and teaching Shiatsu for over 20 years. He has taught beginner to advanced level practitioner training, and has served as director of the International School of Shiatsu. Dean uses years of knowledge and experience and combines shiatsu with principles of osteopathy to allow the patient to experience deep healing benefits.

Colleen

Colleen is a yoga teacher, Thai body worker, and reiki practitioner. She began her journey with reiki in 2012 receiving treatments to help lower stress. After a year of receiving treatments, Colleen found a reiki healer that she truly connected with and began working with her on a regular basis, helping to emotionally and physically heal herself. Through experiencing the multitude of benefits she gained from her regular treatments, Colleen fell in love with the practice of reiki and wanted to gain the certifications required to pass along healing opportunities to others. She began studying and became certified in 2017 and continues to study reiki through her teachers today. Colleen is honored and excited to be a part of the Half Moon Ayurveda team. She firmly lives, practices and believes in the healing power of yoga, ayurveda and reiki. She looks forward to providing a space for healing both on and off the mat.

Mary

Mary Rider is a certified Ayurvedic Practitioner. She received her certification from the Ayurvedic Institute, where she completed over 1500 hours of training under the renowned Ayurvedic Physician and Professor, Dr. Vasant Lad. She went on to complete over 300 hours of clinical experience at the Ayurvedic Institute, under the observation and direction of Nomi Gallo (AP, MEd). She apprenticed with Ayurvedic Clinician and Instructor, Kashyapa Fisher, where she focused on the clinical application of panchakarma therapies. Mary offers Ayurvedic consultations, Ayurvedic treatments including marma, oil and herbal applications, and guided detox cleanses. She currently practices in Philadelphia, facilitates classes and workshops, and is available for house calls and long distance phone consultations via Skype.
